Posted 5 years ago

The proposals are a joint development agreement between London Square and Waltham Forest Council (the landowner of the sites).

The project will provide:

  • 345 new homes including 50% affordable homes and 10% wheelchair adaptable flats
  • A new entrance to Lea Bridge Station with a new station plaza
  • Community, cultural and commercial space
  • 35% of jobs available for the construction/ fit-out to be fulfilled by local residents, 75 apprenticeships or equivalents at the site, and 15 work placements
  • 790 square metres of publicly accessible green space
  • A net increase in trees, species and biodiversity
  • Play spaces for children and young people
  • ‘Community Chest Fund’ developed and delivered with the local community

Following the Planning Committee’s decision the final decision about the proposals will rest with the Mayor of London.

London Square recognises that many neighbours in the community have concerns about the project, and we promise to work closely with the community over the coming months as we develop more detailed plans for the development of the sites.
